WHAT’S NEW: Antique poison bottles

WHAT IS IT?

Old glass poison bottles from the  late 19th-early 20th century. They come in various colours, most commonly cobalt blue and green. The ‘signature style’ has ribbed edges (for the short-sighted) as well as the words ‘POISON’ and ‘NOT TO BE TAKEN’ embossed on the side.

WHAT’S IT FOR?

Well, traditionally poison. These days mostly for decoration and for serving drinks in at gothic dinner parties (maybe?).

WHERE DID YOU GET IT?

I got mine from Willow and Stone. But there are loads on eBay too. Expect to pay between £5 and £15 with P&P.

WHY DO YOU NEED IT?

I clearly don’t. I just have a thing for gothic accessories. And I adore cobalt blue glass in virtually any form. Also, every time I look at them I get Alice Cooper in my head for the rest of the day. Brilliant.
