I’m a journalist, writer, and editor based in London, UK. I love all things art and design, and have spent over 4 years working in the world of homes and interiors.
As a result I have developed an acute cushion awareness. My on-the-spot cushion analysis skills are second to none and I can provide in-depth cushion-to-cushion comparisons on demand.
At any rate, I seem to spend a disproportionate amount of time talking about cushions as well as other homewares and products (it can be a pretty glamorous lifestyle – I once had an entire meeting about washing up sponges). I also seem to acquire a great deal of them. I’m not quite sure how it happens. A colleague once joked that I must have a room at home dedicated entirely to cushions like a soft play adventure park for grown ups… I’m still working on convincing my boyfriend but watch this space!
In the meantime, I try to have regular clear outs and list my items on eBay. All proceeds go the British homeless charity Shelter for reasons that should be blindingly obvious to anyone who doesn’t have polyester hollowfibre for brains. CLICK HERE to see what I’m selling this week.
Outside my busy cushion-orientated schedule, I recently moved in with my boyfriend and I can’t wait to getting stuck in, creating a cool, creative space for us to eat, sleep, live, work, and socialise in.
Which is what brings me here. I wanted somewhere to share ideas and inspiration, to ask for advice and to pass on tips and gossip. I am constantly looking for new – and CHEAP – ways to innovate and make things myself. I like getting my hands dirty and have always got some project or other on the go… all of which I look forward to sharing with you.
Even my blog is wallpapered – check out the background. It’s from Sanderson’s 50s collection and it’s called Wrappings. You can see the full range of colours HERE and if you love it as much as I do you can buy it for £35 a roll HERE.
